This photography project explores the space between the land and sea in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
The shore is transformed in every photo by the light of the sun, the textures of the sand and seaweeds, and the actions of the people who inhabit this space.
The environment, as the protagonist of the project, reveals itself through the family of fishermen, groups of classmates out for a walk, kids sliding on the roof of a hut and it also becomes a symbol of an emotion or a metaphor of the human condition.
It is through this space that we understand how the lives of these people are shaped by the landscape they live in. It becomes clear in the photo where women are cleaning clothes and fixing nets in a precise line on the shore while the fishermen inhabit the whole infinite sea in a random pattern. The landscape is a container through which our society is reflected.
